Aqua Feed Plant

Need High Water Stability and Precise Floatability in Your Fish & Shrimp Feed?

Aqua feed requires much finer particle size reduction and far higher water stability than land animal feed — if pellets dissolve prematurely in water, nutrients leach out and water quality in ponds rapidly deteriorates.

Premium Pulman's Aqua Feed Plant is built for ultra-fine micro-pulverizing, thorough precondition conditioning, and extrusion technology that produces floating, slow-sinking, or sinking feeds tailored to specific aquatic species.

High-Water-Stability Extrusion

Micro-Grinding & Extrusion Precision

Aqua feed production requires ultra-fine raw material grinding (typically down to 60-80 mesh) to ensure complete starch cooking during extrusion. Our plant integrates micro-pulverizers, differential diameter steam preconditioners, and high-shear twin or single screw extruders to achieve exact bulk density control for floating or sinking pellets.

Ultra-Fine Micro Pulverizer

Reduces raw fishmeal, soybean, and cereal grains to sub-250 micron size for superior pellet binding.

Pre-Conditioner Extruder

Injects steam and water to gelatinize starches, enabling floating or sinking feed expansion.

Multi-Pass Belt Dryer

Gently removes moisture from extruded aqua pellets to preserve oil coating and structural integrity.

Suitable for tilapia, catfish, carp, shrimp, and ornamental fish feed formulations.

Working Principle

Fishmeal, soybean meal, and grain formulations are micro-ground in an air-swept pulverizer to ultrafine mesh. The fine mash passes into a differential DDC preconditioner where steam cooks the starch. Under high temperature and shear inside the extruder barrel, starch gelatinization expands the matrix. As feed extrudes through die orifices, high-speed cutters shape pellets which pass through a multi-pass dryer and cooler.

Why Choose Premium Pulman for Your Aqua Feed Plant

Aqua feed milling requires exact thermal and shear control during extrusion to produce buoyant or sinking feeds reliably. Premium Pulman has engineered specialized size reduction and process equipment in Vatva, Ahmedabad for over two decades. Our in-house testing facility allows you to trial your specific fishmeal and grain formulas prior to ordering.

FAQs

Floatability is controlled by adjusting barrel temperature, moisture levels, and pressure inside the extruder — higher expansion creates low-density floating feed, while lower expansion produces sinking feed.

Fine grinding ensures complete starch gelatinization, smooth pellet surfaces, and high water stability, preventing pellets from dissolving quickly in ponds.

With specialized die plates and high-speed cutter heads, our extruders produce micro pellets from 1.0mm to 3.0mm for fingerlings up to 8.0mm for adult fish.
