Salt Refinery Plant

Why Does Raw Salt Need Specialized Refining Equipment Before It Reaches the Market?

Raw salt straight from the source carries moisture, impurities, and inconsistent crystal size — none of which fly with today's food-grade, industrial, or export buyers. Refining it properly takes equipment built specifically for salt's unique handling challenges: its abrasiveness, its moisture retention, and its tendency to cake if processed incorrectly.

Premium Pulman has been building salt refinery plants for Indian manufacturers for over two decades, drawing on the same size reduction and material handling expertise behind our broader equipment range.

Corrosion-Resistant Refining

Refining Built for Salt's Specific Demands

Salt isn't like grain or spice when it comes to processing — it's more abrasive on equipment, and it needs drying and crystallization control that most general-purpose machinery isn't built for. Our salt refinery plants are engineered around these realities, using construction and component choices that hold up against salt's corrosive and abrasive nature over years of continuous operation.

Raw Salt Crushing

Heavy-duty crushers break down raw salt lumps into uniform feeding sizes.

Washing & Purification

Removes insoluble impurities, mud, and soluble chemical contaminants.

Fluidized Bed Drying

Reduces moisture content down to free-flowing commercial and food standards.

Our systems accommodate mid-scale commercial salt plants to heavy continuous industrial refining lines.

ENGINEERED FOR EXCELLENCE

Technical Specifications

Our salt refinery plants are configured across a range of capacities to suit both mid-scale commercial refineries and larger industrial operations. Construction typically favours corrosion-resistant materials given salt's abrasive and moisture-retentive properties, with drying and crystallization stages sized to your production volume. Screening components are set to your target crystal size, whether you're producing table salt, industrial-grade salt, or export-quality refined product.

MOC Grade

SS316 / SS304 / Rubber Lined Mild Steel.

Moisture Reduction

Reduces raw moisture down to < 0.2% dry salt.

Grading Mesh

Precision screening for fine, medium & coarse crystals.

Refinery Capacity

Configured from 2 TPH to 50+ TPH plant output.

Silent Features

Corrosion-resistant construction suited to salt's abrasive processing demands

Drying stages designed to manage moisture content effectively

Adjustable crystallization and screening for different salt grades

Durable build suited to continuous, high-volume refinery operation

Configurations adaptable for table, industrial, or export-grade salt production

Working Principle

Raw salt enters the refinery system where it first passes through cleaning and drying stages to reduce moisture content and remove impurities. From there, it moves through crystallization and grinding equipment that brings the salt down to the target crystal size and consistency. A screening stage separates output by grade, with oversized or undersized material redirected for further processing. The entire system is designed to minimize the handling stress that causes caking or inconsistent crystal formation, which is what ultimately determines the quality grade of the refined salt.

Why Choose Premium Pulman for Your Salt Refinery Plant

Salt processing punishes equipment that isn't built for it, which is exactly why we don't treat salt refinery plants as an afterthought variant of our general processing lines. Every plant is built around salt's specific handling demands, backed by our in-house design review and dimensional inspection process before it leaves our Ahmedabad facility. If you'd like to see how our equipment handles your raw salt specifically, our demonstration room is available for that trial.

FAQs

Salt is more abrasive and corrosive than most other materials we process, so our refinery equipment uses construction suited specifically to withstand that wear over years of operation.

Yes, screening and crystallization stages are adjustable, allowing the same system to be configured for table salt, industrial-grade salt, or export-quality product depending on your requirements.

Yes, drying stages are built into the system specifically to manage and reduce moisture content, which is critical for both storage stability and final product quality.
