Need Heavy-Duty Kneading and Mixing for High-Viscosity Pastes, Doughs, or Rubber Formulations?
High-viscosity materials — thick doughs, adhesives, silicone rubber, mastic, soap bases, and heavy pastes — stall conventional mixers and demand extreme mechanical torque.
Premium Pulman's Sigma Mixer is engineered for extreme kneading and shearing, drawing on over two decades of heavy machinery engineering in Vatva GIDC, Ahmedabad.
Counter-Rotating Tangential Sigma Blades
A sigma mixer features two counter-rotating Z-shaped (Sigma) blades operating inside a W-shaped trough. Running at differential speeds, the blades stretch, shear, and fold sticky high-viscosity masses continuously, breaking down agglomerates and dispersing liquids into doughs uniformly.
Cast Steel Z-Blades
Heavy forged alloy or SS 304/316 Z-blades operating at differential 3:2 speed ratio.
Hydraulic Trough Tilting
Motorized hydraulic cylinder tilts trough up to 110 degrees for rapid paste discharge.
Heating & Cooling Jacket
Steam/oil heating or chilled water jacket for precise process temperature control.
Essential for bakery doughs, chewing gum base, sealants, BMC/SMC compounds, and soap pastes.
Technical Specifications
Our Sigma Mixers feature heavy-duty helical reduction gearboxes, heavy-wall W-shaped troughs, gland stuffing boxes, and options for vacuum operation or extruding discharge screws (Sigma Kneader Extruder).

Silent Features
Differential speed Z-blades deliver maximum shearing and kneading
Hydraulic trough tilting ensures effortless discharge of thick pastes
Heavy-duty gear drive handles extreme torque requirements without stall
Vacuum construction available for de-aeration during kneading
Thermal oil / steam heating jackets for hot melt processing
Working Principle
Material is loaded into the W-trough. As the two Z-shaped blades rotate in opposite directions at differential speed (e.g. 35 RPM vs 22 RPM), material is pulled into the narrow clearance gap between blades and trough walls. The intense mechanical compression, shearing, and stretching kneads sticky doughs into homogeneous pastes.
Why Choose Premium Pulman for Your Sigma Mixer
Kneading high-viscosity masses requires extreme mechanical strength to prevent shaft bending or blade fracture. Premium Pulman has manufactured heavy-duty sigma mixers in Vatva, Ahmedabad for over two decades. Visit our demonstration plant to test your heavy paste formulations firsthand.
