A hammer mill operates using swinging hardened steel hammers attached to a high-speed central shaft. Material fed into the chamber is repeatedly shattered by hammer impact against breaker plates until fine enough to pass through the semi-circular bottom screen mesh.

Working Principle

Material drops gravity-fed into the crushing chamber where high-velocity swinging hammers strike the incoming stream. The material is driven against surrounding serrated breaker plates, undergoing intense kinetic fracturing. Reduced particles circulate along the bottom screen deck until they pass through the perforations for gravity or air-swept collection.
